Kinja'd!!!

We had her since I was in 4th grade, I’m 22 now. She always greeted me at the door and it was nice to see her when I was really depressed. She was the best dog I ever met and couldn’t have been a better pet. I miss my friend. I had a dream last night after she died that she came back to life but it wasn’t real. She was 12 and I miss her. We also have a corgi and he keeps looking for her around the house and is very sad too. I don’t know what to do. It’s just so sad.

Really sorry to hear that. We had a cat that passed away under the Christmas tree when I was little. Always hard.

I’ve been trying to pet him more and give him attention. He’s pretty sick too, I thought he was going to go before the other dog to be honest

It’s sad, definitely.

But I’ll say this- 12 for a dog is full, long life. If I live a full long life, loved by those I cherish and in the comfort of a compassionate home...then I’ll be okay when it’s time.

Really sorry for your loss mate.

She may no longer be with you in body, but she’ll always be with you in both spirit and memory.

I’m sorry. It’s always hard to lose a loved one. My mom lost 2 this year. Both we got when I was in middle/high school. *hug*

It’s never easy. You will eventually not think about it every day, but it takes a while.

Lili was 18 when we had to end it - I’d had her 16 years, and the SigOther knew her for 9 years. She was a bitch - she took no shit from anyone. We have 2 new cats now - still, the sting never goes out of it. You’ll sort of get over it, but never completely. And that’s OK.

Sorry for your loss. I lost one of my dogs about a month ago. It’s rough. My other pup is still really bummed. I’m sure he can still smell her everywhere.

So sad. I was crushed when we lost our border collie over a year ago. I’ve had three borders and each one has made it between 15 and 16.

Condolences from me. It really sucks to lose a pet.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a furry friend is always tough, especially when you grew up together. They really are beloved family members. I had a wonderful dog from the age of 15 until I was 26. It was really hard when she passed away, and I didn’t ever want to try to replace her. That was almost 4 years ago. I still miss her a lot. I struggled with the idea of getting another dog, but then 3 weeks ago an adorable little dog showed up in my parking lot in the rain. She has bug eyes and an underbite, but she’s pretty adorable. She spent a week at the shelter, and her owners didn’t claim her so I adopted her. I found out from my neighbors that her previous owner just locked her in a bathroom all day. Her hair was matted into dreadlocks. I actually met the guy, and he’s a jerk. I’m happy to give her a good home. I’m rambling, but my point is: losing a pet sucks, and it will sting for a long time, but hopefully someday you’ll have the chance to give another dog a loving home.

Losing a furry friend always sucks. We always have pets, so we go through this ever few years. It never gets any easier.

Just keep the happy times in your mind and try to do something positive that will help you remember. This might be a good time to put together a scrap book and fill it with memories of your friend.
